My wife has been a resident in this care home for years and gets great care. The staff are very good to her, plenty of good food, always kept clean. When I go to see her the staff are very friendly. If anything goes wrong they will let you know by phone at once. I would recommend anyone who is needing care.

My wife was 55 years old when diagnosed with advanced Alzheimers disease in 2011, her condition having deteriorated over the past five years. This care home caters for residents of all ages and abilities and I have decided that it was the most suitable one in the area to care for my wife.
Her condition means that she cannot make choices or be aware of potential danger, and needs help with all aspects of her life. Although my wife has a "nominated" nurse and carer, other members of staff are also aware of her limitations and assist her as required. The care home has a good staff training policy.

This care home has made a fantastic contribution to my wifes final time. Comfortable and dignified.
Review relates to February 2015.

Since my grandpa's admission to Castle Gardens he has settled in so well. The staff are very friendly and he is never without a smile on his face. He is always well presented, and clean and tidy. I am so pleased with the care he is receiving.
Isobel has been in this home for one year and eleven months. Thanks to the staff she has settled very well. I and my two girls and grandson are in the home in a daily basis, we try and keep up with the residents by talking with them on a first name basis.
I hope all the staff keep up the wonderful work that they do. Thank you.
In appreciation for the kindness of staff and how they comforted and nurtured Martha in the last 4 years, so reassuring and know all of us relatives. Staff made sure she always was respected, dressed in clothes that matched, nails always clean (painted on occasions of pamper time), attended reading, musical or activities, baking, making paper or felt flowers and many other things to keep the residents in touch with things they'd do at home. Meeting monthly with manager if we wanted to discuss anything, or fete plans. Menus - make sure food is nutritious plus what people enjoy. All staff from cleaners to staff nurse always have time to speak kindly and with an understanding manner. Grow their own tomatoes, flowers/plants. Have chicken, hens, eggs, rabbits. Visitors bring their pets in and it is wonderful to see the transformation. Never smelly always clean and fresh. Staff are always busy doing something with residents, Jean Durdle the activities lady can encourage them to do things and accomplish things that seem impossible.
After five years of deteriorating health inc inconclusive tests my wife was finally diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease and needed to be cared for in a Nursing Home rather than a domestic environment. From a short list of 10 possible homes I selected Castle Gardens as being best suited for my wife's needs. Since she first went there in October 2011 I have had no reason to change my mind the relatively small number of residents (36) enables the staff to be aware of the needs of those who have both of either physical or mental problems. Good management and ongoing training enables the staff to maintain its high standards.
It was a huge worry when we were told mum had to go into care. However, the family are very relieved at the quality of care that is being provided. The staff have been lovely to deal with and are treating mum really well.
