Here is a selection of testimonials from our Residents and their loved ones regarding the care they have received at some of our homes.
My mother has been a Resident for two years. She is 88 years old and suffers from Alzheimers resulting in her being unable to recall her husband of over 50 years or myself as her son.
From the outset Holmwood felt as though they really knew how to care and wanted to care for those with this disabling form of dementia. The place was, and is, spotlessly clean, the en-suite bedrooms are neat and tidy and the communal rooms and corridors are bright and colourful.
The food is varied, often with choices and is well cooked. There is a programme of activities including entertainers, games, crafts and even visiting pets. Of course, as with all services for the most vulnerable, the most important factor is the human contact provided by the staff. This is another area where Holmwood is outstanding. Staff deal with the day to day routine in a caring, friendly, cheerful and professional manner. Emergencies are dealt with promptly and appropriately. Manager and staff are easily approached if concerns need to be raised. The test, of course, regarding quality of care is how comfortable, respected, happy and settled the residents feel. When visiting mum I sense Holmwood ticks all these boxes and more.

My wife, who requires Nursing care, has only been in Aldergrove for six weeks, in this short space of time I have noted that she is settling in well with her surroundings, and staff.
The standard of care is excellent, the Home Manager, Geanette, and her staff are very helpful and deal with any issues quickly, and efficiently. The home itself has a feeling of warmth, it is clean and tidy and to my surprise, has an efficient laundry system. It takes time to find a good care home, (in my experience), but I myself am very satisfied with the quality of care at Aldergrove, and have no hesitation in recommending this home to anyone.

In the two and a half years that my mother has been a Resident she has been exceptionally well cared for, has been treated with dignity and all her needs met by the friendly and efficient staff. There is plenty of entertainment and activities for those who wish to participate. The food is always varied and cooked to a high standard. I therefore would have no hesitation in recommending Lothian House to anyone.

My wife has been a permanent Resident for 12 months or more during which time her care package, carried out by a diverse number of suitably qualified staff has been excellent. Her siblings, some of whom have had unpleasant experiences with other homes, also comment that the home is fresh, clean, well maintained and welcoming to visitors. Definitely 'a cut above'. Additionally the food and quality thereof is always fresh and sufficient.

The loving care and attention the staff at Stoneleigh gave to our father was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. The family spent many days at Stoneleigh and were treated with dignity, love and respect. Thank you so much for you dedication. We will not forget it! Thank you. X.

I recommend Aldergrove Manor because the staff are always on the mark. We also go out on trips like pub meals, shows at the West Park and the Grand Theatre. We also do raffles fetes, play games. We have a large garden where we sit in the summer. I would like to say a big thank you to all our staff on Y.D.P unit for all their hard work getting me walking again.

I have been a Resident here at Swallownest Care Home since 2007 and I am very happy and settled here. I enjoy the food and can honestly say that this home is very clean.
I have a good relationship with the staff and the manager and feel happy that if I had any issues that I could talk to the manager or a member of staff. I enjoy the concerts we have here and I have my own computer that I spend time playing games on. After living here for five years I would recommend this home to others and would like to think their stay here would be as happy as mine.
All of the staff are fabulous. There are always lots of activities going on. I do the Zumba class at Lothian House and we love it.
