Specialist Support for Younger People
We have a small number of services that provide specialist support for younger people with complex needs arising from mental illness, physical or learning disabilities.
These homes tend to be smaller with a warm and homely environment. Whilst individuals’ care needs are an important part of this service, the focus is on equipping them to a greater level of independence. Life in these homes is designed around building confidence and self-esteem. We provide activities that upskill, such as cooking and financial planning.
Some of the individuals we support, because of their condition, may be verbally or physically challenging to others. We place a great deal of emphasis on identifying the triggers that cause an individual to feel anxious and helping them to find better ways to cope.
