Averill House shows support to Alzheimer’s Society with Ready Steady Glow walkThe team at Averill House care home in Newton Heath were delighted to raise a fantastic £300 for Alzheimer’s Society by completing a 5km Ready, Steady, Glow’ walk.

Six members of staff signed up to the challenge, with each Colleague setting themselves a target of earning £50 each. The task aimed to represent how strongly the team feel about supporting dementia and Alzheimer’s care and research.

Upon completion of the walk, staff enjoyed a celebratory lunch where they also toasted their fantastic Residents.

Everyone was also extremely proud to have raised £300 in total for the charity.

One Resident commented: “Well done to all of the care team, we knew you could do it!”

Roisin Doyle, Home Manager at Averill House, said: “Everyone at Averill House was delighted to have shown support for such a fantastic cause that is really close to our hearts. The 5km walk was definitely a challenge, but we had fun completing it together and it certainly paid off in the end!”
