Football fans’ wishes come true at Springfield HouseStaff at Springfield House in Low Fell helped make a dream come true for football fans Tom Athey and Les Gilbert as they got the opportunity to cheer on their home team, Newcastle United.

Carer Michelle and Wellbeing Coordinator Jack escorted the Residents to the Newcastle United match against Huddersfield, where they were delighted to see an excellent 2:0 result for their local team.

Everyone really enjoyed the atmosphere at the game, especially as it was a lovely, sunny day.

Tom commented: “I have had the best day, I haven’t been to a match in so many years!”

Karen Frew-McGill, Home Manager at Springfield House, said: “At HC-One, kind care is our top priority, so we strive to make our Residents’ wishes come true as much as possible. Tom and Les loved seeing their home team play the match, and couldn’t stop smiling for the rest of the day after they saw them win.”
