HC-One shortlisted for an outstanding three awards  at the National Care Awards 2021HC-One Colleagues and care homes across the North East and West Midlands have been shortlisted as finalists by the judging panel at the National Care Awards 2021.
 
The achievement of these three finalists is recognition of their hard work and kind care shown to Residents, Relatives and Colleagues as well as the dedication and passion they show every day to ensure the people they support receive the best quality care.
 
HC-One’s finalists for the National Care Awards 2021 are:
 
·       Jill Carr, General Site Manager at Lothian House and Tenlands Care Home, HC-One, finalist in the Care Home Manager Award Category.
 
Jill previously worked for NHS mental health services for 13 years, before joining Lothian House as the Residential Care Home Manager in June 2004. Jill is the registered Home Manager of two services – Lothian House and Tenlands Care Home, both currently rated as ‘Outstanding’ by CQC. Jill shares her time between the two services and takes her responsibilities very seriously. She has one aim, which is that Residents and Colleagues in both her homes have a great quality of life and Colleagues have a fantastic career.

·       Defoe Court Care Home, HC-One, finalist in the Care Team Award Category.
 
Defoe Court is a 41-bed care home based in Durham providing residential care, residential dementia care and nursing care for elderly people. The Defoe Court Care Team consistently develop innovative ways to drive up their standards, skills and expertise for the benefit of all the Residents at the home.
 
·       Susan Grantham, Head Housekeeper at Victoria Gardens Care Home, HC-One, finalist in the Care Housekeeper Award Category.

Susan is the Head Housekeeper at Victoria Gardens Care Home in Coventry, her main focus is supervising the Housekeeping Team at the home and ensuring the team’s work is carried out to a high standard. She leads her team by example by setting the bar high when it comes to cleanliness and following infection control measures. Sue nominated herself to take on additional responsibilities during the coronavirus pandemic, by becoming the Housekeeping Infection Control Lead/Champion.
 
The National Care Awards 2021 marks 23 years of celebrating the very best people working in the care sector and those who go above and beyond to provide consistent exceptional care. The National Care Awards ceremony will take place on Friday 19th November 2021 at the Hilton London Metropole hotel when the winners will be announced.
