A Resident at HC-One’s Riverside View care home in Dundee enjoyed a very special birthday this June as she reached 100.
Riverside View Resident, Mary Leyland, turned 100 years young on 5th June 2020 and our Colleagues at the home could not let the day go past without celebrating this amazing landmark birthday.
Staff organised a small party for Mary in the afternoon that was attend by staff as well as her fellow Residents. Mary’s family weren't able to attend due to lockdown but where there in spirit.
Later in the day Mary opened her card from The Queen with bagpipes playing in the background and enjoyed opening her gifts and cards surrounded by her 100 balloons, which where taller than her!
Mary really enjoyed her day and stated the only thing that would have made it better was if she could have seen her family, “I can’t thank the staff enough for how special they have made me feel,” she said.
Riverside View Home Manager Lynsey Robbie said: “All of our staff really enjoyed helping Mary celebrate her birthday especially since she was unable to see her family.”
