60th anniversary for Dorset care home coupleToday Colleagues at St James Park care home in Bridport helped Beryl and Mike celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.

Beryl has lived at St James for over a year now and Mike visited her nearly every day. However, when Mike found himself in need of a little TLC, St James was able to provide a double room and reunited them.

With the pandemic causing so much difference in everyday life, Beryl and Mike were apart in separate rooms for a while but now they are sharing a space with each other again which is just wonderful to see.

As their 60th wedding anniversary is today, Colleagues thought they would make it as special as possible and decorated the home with balloons and a cake. A special St James cheer could also be hear by Colleagues and fellow Residents alike.

Mike shed a few happy tears and Colleagues commented how nice it was that they could be together on this tremendous milestone day.

Home Manager, Gordon Collins, remarked, “What a wonderful day! Huge thanks go to Michaela from the wellbeing team as well as Jenny on admin and chef Clair, as well as all the other super caring staff, everyone made this possible!”
