A Newlands Easter to remember with pampering and bunny invasionIt was a very happy Easter at Newlands care home, in Stockport, as Residents were treated to a variety of Easter themed activities as well as bunny invasion and lots of pampering.

Newlands was invaded by chocolate bunnies that wanted new homes and the Residents, including Geoff, John, Eddy, Vera, Tom, Carol, Mo, Marg, Pauline, Kath, Cath and Ted were over the moon to help out. “He (the bunny) is so cute... and delicious,” one Resident commented.

Another Resident liked the bell around the bunny so much that it is now holding her hair back.

“Thank you so much – it’s a lovely surprise,” one said.

During the week, Residents had made Easter cards to give to each other and the exchange of the cards was lovely, everyone had a big grin on their face after getting their own bunny and card.

Also, this week, Residents have been treated to a good old hand pamper.

Wellbeing Coordinator, Rachel, cut, filed and cleaned Residents nails and then gave each a hand massage, with a lovely smelling hand and nail care cream.”

If Residents wanted, they could also have their nails painted in two tone patterns

One Resident said, “I really enjoyed that, it felt like a proper salon.”

Another Resident added, “You could open up your own shop!”

Rachel commented, “Residents liked choosing colours that contrasted that they wouldn’t normally pick. This led to a group chat and they all picked for each other and talked about what would look good together. This was so lovely to see. A very successful activity.”
