A day of remembrance at Oldham care homeColleagues and Residents at HC One’s Avalon Park care home held their own remembrance service today.

Some of the Residents at the Oldham care home took part in a remembrance service, as they made poppy wreaths and wrote special messages on the front of them.

The activity triggered lots of memories for the Residents and they spoke about friends and family that had been affected by the Great War. They told of jobs their families had to take on during that time to help the war effort.

Resident Kara said “I’ve really enjoyed this activity and the time speaking about lost memories”

The homes wellbeing coordinator commented “This time of year allows us to reflect and at HC One we want people to be able to do this in a safe and positive environment.”
