A fun carrot-themed party at Lancashire care homeResidents and Colleagues spent their day celebrating National Carrot Cake Day over at HC-One’s Bankhouse care home in Hambleton, Poulton-le-Fylde.

Colleagues spent the day dressed as carrots to really play the part as Residents snacked on different carrot-based treats throughout the day.

Lunch was a roast dinner with carrot stuffing, followed by afternoon refreshments – carrot juice and, you guessed it, carrot cake as Residents enjoyed taking part in a fun carrot trivia quiz.

Brenda, a Resident at the home, laughed: “The staff’s hats remind me of Carmen Miranda! But I do love a quiz.”

Dinner at the home consisted of cream of carrot soup, followed by vegetable quiche and apple berry pie for dessert, served with an orange custard.

Celebrating National Carrot Cake Day was a fun way for Colleagues and Residents to interact with each other and have a bit of silly fun to cheer the home up in difficult times.

Bankhouse Care Assistant, Abbie Strachan, said: “It was great to see staff and Residents relax and have fun. We hope to do more themed days in the future.”
