A laidback Burns Night at Newcastle care homeResidents enjoyed a relaxing afternoon for Burns Night this year at HC-One’s Sutherland Court care home in Fenham, Newcastle upon Tyne.

They spent their afternoon sipping on whisky or wine and watching YouTube clips of all things Scottish – from videos of the Highland fling to relaxing scenes of Scotland’s beautiful lochs and mountains.

Residents then enjoyed a special Burns Night supper with haggis, neeps and tatties on the menu.

Joan Thompson, a Resident at the home, commented: “It was a lovely afternoon followed by a nice meal. Thank you.”

Residents carried on with the fun as they sang to traditional Scottish songs and chatted amongst themselves about trips they had taken to Scotland in the past.

Sutherland Court Wellbeing Coordinator, Judith Snowdon, said: “It was fantastic seeing Residents enjoying themselves, chatting and singing.”
