A week full of fun themes at Nottingham care homeHC One’s Springwater Lodge care home has come up with different themes for various days of the week to keep everyone entertained.
This week at the Nottingham care home you would find ‘musical Wednesday’, ‘theme Thursday’ and ‘treat Friday’.

On musical Wednesday it was a day full of laughter and music as Residents sang and danced to old classics. Resident Hillary Smith, who sometimes finds it hold to join in, was singing away to all the songs. Everyone’s spirits were really uplifted.

On theme Thursday, it is the decision of whoever is ‘Resident of the day’ to choose their favourite meal, which will then be available for all of the Residents to taste.

This week it was Dorothy Hunt’s turn and she chose Chinese food, so the kitchen staff prepared sweet and sour pork with egg fried rice, followed by banana fritters in syrup. Dot said she really enjoyed it.

Finally the week’s themes ended with treat Friday, where Colleague Miheala made all of the staff some refreshing mocktails, followed by a beautiful fruit platter.

The Colleagues enjoyed some strawberry punch ‘mojitos’, which were very refreshing on such a hot day. The punch was also given out to Residents along with some ice lollies too, the perfect way to cool down.
