A weekend of celebrations at Cheshire care homeResidents have enjoyed two big celebrations at HC-One’s Newlands care home in Heaton Moor, Stockport after the weekend brought Chinese New Year as well as Valentine’s Day.

On Friday, Residents enjoyed an afternoon of crafts when Residents made their very own lion masks and dancing dragons to decorate the home. Many Residents said that they love the decorations so much they want them to stay up all year.

For lunch, Kitchen Colleagues created a tailored Chinese menu including vegetable stir fry, chicken in black bean sauce and salt and pepper chips.

Love was in the air on Sunday as Residents and Colleagues enjoyed a relaxing Valentine’s Day. Wellbeing Colleagues made their very own Valentine’s cards for the Residents and gave each one of them an accompanying long stem rose.

One Resident commented: “You’ve made my day with the card and the rose.”

After receiving lovely gifts and cards, Residents made their very own heart-shaped coasters which they could send to a loved one or keep for themselves as a special treat this Valentine’s Day.
