Almost two decades residing at Dukinfield care homeToday was a very special day at The Beeches residential care home, on Tameside. As they celebrated the anniversary of the longest staying Resident, Margaret.

Margaret has lived at the home for 19 years, she arrived a month after the home opened in 2002 and is a big part of the home. She enjoys living at the care home and socialises with fellow Residents and Colleagues daily. She enjoys joining in with all activities within the home and her favourite is bingo.

Margaret’s husband used to visit daily before the pandemic along with their son, and everyone cannot wait to welcome him back to the home and hopefully celebrate together.

This morning everyone enjoyed entertainment online from regular singer Deborah and her swinging sixties show, Margaret was presented with flowers from the home and this afternoon, the celebrations carried on with songs from one of her favourite singers Elvis.

Margaret commented, “I love living here, the girls are nice and look after me. Thank you for a lovely morning.”

Sade Smith, Wellbeing Coordinator, said, “It’s been a honour to celebrate such a special day with Margaret. Let’s hope next year we can have bigger celebrations with her family!”
