An afternoon of games and puzzles at Falkirk care homeResidents at HC-One’s Kinnaird Manor care home in Camelon, Stirlingshire have enjoyed trying out some new puzzles and activities to get the cogs in their heads moving.

Residents Charlie and Betty both took part and they loved making an incredible wooden crane out of a wooden Meccano set. Charlie was very impressed with the purchase and only need a little bit of assistance to get started as Betty helped him to pick out the specific pieces he needed.

Charlie said: “I like building these, it keeps the brain working. I think we should build a plane next.”

Betty enjoyed playing with a puzzle cube where the aim was to untangle a threaded string. After successfully completing the puzzle, she took great pleasure in tangling it back up so that someone else could test themselves when they had a turn.

Betty commented: “It’s nice to have something different to try.”

The final puzzle was a wooden maze that Charlie completed in no time at all. Bright as a button, Charlie said: “That was too easy. We might need to find one that’s a bit more of a challenge!”
