Annual harvest season celebrations at Cradley Heath care home HC-One’s Roxburgh House care home in Cradley Heath hosted its annual autumnal celebration with a Harvest Festival for Residents, friends, family, staff and members of the local community on Friday 27th September.

For this year’s celebration, the home decided to have a country and western theme, with autumnal food, live entertainment, food hamper and much more. Residents enjoyed socialising with guests and taking part in the festivities, which raised £160 for the Roxburgh House Resident’s Comfort Fund.

The festival was also in support of Silver Sunday, a day in the national calendar dedicated to making older people feel valued and integrated into the community. By encouraging them to make new friends and keep their minds and bodies active, Silver Sunday looks at reducing levels of isolation and loneliness amongst elderly members of the community.

Linda Wilkes, Roxburgh House Home Manager commented: “This year’s harvest festival saw lots of people joining us for the celebrations and enjoying the entertainment and activities offered. We were pleased to see guests and Residents enjoying themselves on the day and are delighted with how the event went.”
