Battle of the bouquets at Cheshire care homeResidents are enjoying their new weekly flower arranging competition at HC-One’s Newlands care home in Heaton Moor, Stockport.

The home is delivered loose flowers that Residents then arrange into beautiful bouquets to be displayed in the foyer, dining room and visiting pod.

Every week they vote for their favourite bouquet and one green-fingered lady is crowned flower champion of the week.

Vera, a humble Resident at the home, commented: “I love the pretty colours that we get but I’m no good at flower arranging.”

Her modesty came shortly before winning the weekly bouquet battle after her arrangement won the most votes.

Residents and Colleagues enjoy the activity and everyone else in the home loves being surrounding by the beautiful arrangements.

Newlands Home Manager, Rebecca Murphy, said: “Our displays are getting better with practice.”
