Beeston care home Resident celebrates 85th birthdayA Resident at HC-One’s Silverwood nursing home in Beeston celebrated his 85th birthday on 28th June along with his wife, friends and home Colleagues.

John Fowler, 85, and his wife have been residing in Silverwood for just over 9 years. John is very sociable and loved going out with his friends on the bus or the ram to place for a meal or coffee.

John is also a keen gardener and generously gives advice to others who want to learn, indeed John grows all sorts of veg in the green house that they have at Silverwood. John is popular in the home and it was only right to give him the best birthday he could wish for.

Colleagues started off the birthday celebrations with welcoming Johns family to home and even his dog Toby, who he loved dearly. John loves animals and for a while the home had a very tame squirrel coming to the window for nuts, eating them out of Johns hand.

Colleagues then shared a cake amongst John and his family and other Residents in the home to wrap up celebrations, “The cake was lovely,” said one Resident.

Silverwood Home Manager, Carrie Davies said: “John looks so good for his age and its so good to have some great celebratory news.”
