Benfleet care home Resident marks 102nd birthdayOn the Murrelle Unit at Godden Lodge care home in Essex, it was a very special day indeed for one Resident who turns 102!

Joan Dye, who was born in 1918, had a wonderful day which was organised by Colleagues Sue and Fran who said, “We are all happy to see her celebrate her birthday and made sure she had a good day.”

Although her family couldn't come in to see her, they surrounded her with all her cards and presents and Joan definitely felt special on her birthday!

Joan is on a purred diet so kitchen Colleague, Sue, ensured that she had a birthday cake that met her dietary requirements, it looked wonderful and Joan thoroughly enjoyed it and was delighted she could have some cake!

Joan, pictured, loved having all her cards with her and Colleagues singing ‘Happy Birthday’.

Lanie Mizona, the home’s Manager, remarked, “It’s good that Colleagues managed to make the day so special for Joan. 102 is a big age milestone to reach. Well done Joan!”
