Biker’s birthday surprise at Dundee care homeHC-One’s Ballumbie Court care home in Dundee organised a birthday surprise to remember for Resident, Eddie Williams Sunday 23rd June.

In his younger days, Eddie was a keen motorbike rider, whose pride and joy was his Harley Davidson, so the team at Ballumbie Court arranged for some bikers to visit the home on Eddie’s birthday.

When the initial arrangements fell through, the team were devastated that they wouldn’t be able to surprise Eddie for his birthday, but through the power of social media the team were able to find kind volunteers who visited the home throughout the day with their different motorbikes for Eddie to see.

Eddie’s face lit up when looking at the bikes and chatting with the riders, he even shed a tear of joy when a Harley Davidson would ride up to the home. It was a special moment for everyone at Ballumbie Court, who were overjoyed that they were able to make Eddie’s birthday a special one.

Mary McKigen, Home Manager at Ballumbie Court said: “The look on Eddie’s face said it all, moments like this are what it’s all about. Thank you so much for the amazing response from the local community, you truly made Eddie’s day.”
