Residents have enjoyed a day pretending to visit France over at HC-One’s Meadow Bank House care home in Great Lever, Manchester.
With the current travel ban put in place by the government and Residents being unable to take daytrips due to lockdown, everyone at the home decided to bring to the Meadow Bank House. Residents and Colleagues have made their own passports and will get to experience 12 different cultures throughout the year. Their first stop; Paris.
Residents made their own croissants and pains au chocolat as they learned how to say some phrases and sang songs in French. Some Residents even remembered the words and phrases from French lessons in school or trips to the country.
Frère Jacques was a big hit as Joyce, a Resident at Meadow Bank House, laughed: “Hey, I had no idea I could sing an entire song in French!”
After plenty of fun baking, Residents teamed up to take part in a French trivia quiz as they snacked on cheese and crackers washed down with French wine.
Meadow Bank House Home Manager, Kelly Champkin, said: “It brought back a lot of memories for a few Residents who have been to France or enjoyed French food.”
