Braintree care home Colleagues help Resident revamp patio garden areaAfter a recent diagnosis, a Resident at HC-One’s Larchwood care home in Braintree is planning to revamp his private patio garden area in time for summer.

Larchwood Resident Robert Watson has been struggling lately with his recent diagnosis and the lock-down has proved incredibly difficult for everyone. Although Larchwood are able to welcome families back, there are still some issues which means the home have been unable to open to visitors just yet.

Colleagues Tracy Hughes & Becky Keen have been trying to lift Roberts spirits. Tracy had a great idea and had her husband make Robert a planter for outside his room where he wishes to plant a pear tree.

Staff at Larchwood are focusing on Roberts patio area with bird feeders, more planters so when he can welcome his family back, they can enjoy the outside space.

Robert enjoyed planning what to do with his patio area and stated that it brought back many fond memories of his own garden.

Nestled away in a quiet, rural location just outside Braintree in Essex, Larchwood is a friendly, purpose-built care home with 64 beds, offering residential dementia care.
