Buckinghamshire care home dough modellingToday Colleagues at Highclere care home in Milton Keynes held a dough modelling workshop for Residents.

“We used ‘Play Doh’ for an activity, Residents had so much fun making all kinds of animals, fruit bowls, and other wonderful shapes,” explain one care Colleague.

These types of activities are also good finger and hand exercises, as Residents were constantly using their hands.

The Residents had not used modelling dough for a very long time and many of them said what memories it had brought back to them when using ‘Play Doh’ with their children.

A good afternoon was had by all. Malcolm, one of the Residents, commented, “I’m happy it’s something that kept me awake for two hours!”

Home Manager, Farai Maringa, remarked, “It was so lovely when Residents were talking about their memories with their children, what a fabulous activity!”
