Burns Night celebrations at Stockport care homeResidents at HC-One’s Newlands care home in Heaton Moor, Stockport celebrated Burns Night with a variety of fun-filled activities on Monday 25th January.

Burns Night, is a celebration of the life of the bard Robert Burns, born 25th January 1759. The day also commemorates Burns' contribution to Scottish culture, including his best known work, Auld Lang Syne.

Everyone came together the Scottish bard with a recital of his more famous poetry followed by a famous Scottish men themed quiz as well as arts and crafts. Residents also enjoyed delicious traditional Scottish delicacies including haggis.

One Resident commented: “I haven’t had haggis for years, it was lovely to have it again.”

Newlands Home Manager, Rebecca Murphy said: “I am pleased that everyone enjoyed celebrating Burns Night together.”
