Burns supper at Lancashire care homeResidents enjoyed treats from Scotland on Monday as they celebrated Burns Night at HC-One’s Bankhouse care home in Hambleton, Poulton-le-Fylde.

The chef made a delicious Dundee cake which Residents washed down with Scottish cocktails and whisky in the afternoon.

John, a Resident at the home, joked: “The best whiskey is from Ireland!”

Colleagues played highland music and even did a little dancing, much to the amusement of the Residents.

The evening meal was a delectable three-courses with salmon fishcakes or leek and potato soup for starters, followed by the traditional haggis, neeps and tatties for the main course.

Residents then treated themselves to cranachan and even battered Mars bar.

Bankhouse Home Manager, Janet Barnes, commented: “The ladies weren’t very keen on the whisky. They enjoyed a Scotch fruit cocktail with bubbly though.”
