Caerphilly care home throw celebration partyColleagues at residential care and residential memory care home, Church view, decided to throw a welcome back party to Colleagues during a few tough weeks due to the pandemic.

For the party, everyone all gathered together, socially distanced of course, in the room which was filled with helium balloons, posh cupcakes, beer and welcome back flags to wave.

Ellen Smith, Care Home Manager, said, “To watch the Residents call and wave to each other across the room was fantastic!”

There were so many wonderful comments from the Residents, “Well it’s so nice to see you! Come sit by me!” The community spirit was as if no one had ever been apart.

There was also a music show put on by Colleagues with a bit of Shirley Bassey and Tom Jones. Everyone sang, clapped, danced and enjoyed themselves.

In the middle of the party, Ellen jumped in unexpectedly, with a ‘Kindness in Care Award’ for Colleagues Kath Shorney, Kaylam Pipe-Colwill and Carol Jenkins.

To finish off the day the song ‘Show Me the Way to Go Home’ was sung for everyone by Resident Mary Probert with the microphone for everyone to hear and enjoy.

Everyone really is ‘at home’ at Church View.
