Residents at Chandler’s Ford care home in Eastleigh enjoyed a scenic trip out to Brambridge Garden Centre and Falconry as they met some new feathery friends.
Everyone enjoyed admiring the blossoming summer flowers before sampling some locally-sourced ice cream in the centre’s popular café.
This was followed by a visit to the Falconry Centre, where Residents were amazed to participate in a fun flying session with the owls and hawks.
The bird handlers gave an interesting insight into the creatures’ lives, giving Residents the opportunity to hold and stroke the amazing birds too.
Residents looked in awe as they felt the breadth of the owls’ wings and saw how quickly they could fly.
Cassie Munnoch, Home Manager at Chandler’s Ford, said: “Our visit to Brambridge Falconry was a huge success. It was great to see the Residents meeting the birds of prey, which was a first-time experience for many.”
