Cheshire home opens letters from pen pals clubThis morning, people of Callands care home in Cheshire held their popular ‘Pen Pals Club’, which has been gaining more interest over the last few weeks.

The home has received many letters and postcards as a result of signing up to the ‘Postcards of Kindness’ scheme. Everybody enjoys looking at the postcards and talking about the places where they have come from which has resulted in new friendships being made every week.

Residents enjoy looking at the postcards with some lovely landscapes pictured on them as well as some of the letters which include drawings as well.

One of the Residents, when looking through the newly received cards, said, “They are all lovely.”

Home Manager, Catherine Bezer, commented, “Particularly during this time, it is more important than ever in making new friends and keeping up that friendship which is what the pen pals club is so great for. We all love this scheme!"
