Children in Need supported by West Yorkshire care homeColleagues at Ash Grange care home, in Bloxwich, supported Children in Meed by attending work in non-uniform or wearing something in relation to Pudsey Bear.

Everyone was encouraged to contribute a donation of their choice to Children In Need.

The Residents spent the morning baking cakes ready for the baking competition in the afternoon. They participated in decorating their cakes with different coloured buttercream, sprinkles and chocolate chips. Some Residents also made different coloured polka dot eye patches to represent the famous ‘Pudsey Bear’ where Colleagues took some pictures of the Residents with them on (see pictures).

Finally, to end the celebrations, the Residents had a buffet tea provided by the in-house chef; with free pizza donated by Papa Johns.

“It was a really successful day where the Residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves,” commented one of the care Colleagues, “The Residents loved decorating the cakes and were full of smiles throughout.”

One Resident said that the cakes looked lovely and he enjoyed decorating them.

Anita Horton, Home Manager, said, “I enjoyed watching the Residents actively engaging with the day’s activities.”
