Christmas crafts and decorating windows for Dunmow ResidentsChristmas Craft Club is different this year at The Moat House care home in Dunmow, Essex.

Unfortunately, due to current circumstances surrounding the pandemic, the Christmas Fair which provides an opportunity to showcase the Residents’ handmade Christmas crafts, has been cancelled this year. However, the Craft Club still enjoy making Christmas garlands using the fauna and flora from the home’s gardens.

Along with handmade Christmas cards and decorations, the Craft Club decided to make Residents a Christmas Garland to hang outside on their windows.

In particular, Rosemary Petchy, who is a Resident at The Moat House, thoroughly enjoyed making the garland (pictured).

Windows have proved very important this year, not only as a view to outside, but have also been the only opportunity in recent weeks to see family and loved ones.

Home Manager, Noreen Adkin, commented, “Despite the difficult situation, we are working extra hard to make sure that this Christmas will be an extra special one to remember for all our Residents.”
