Christmas festivities from Roxburgh House care homeResidents and Colleagues alike at the Cradley Heath care home, have gone all out this year with the Christmas activities. From mistletoe making to Christmas parties and everything in between.

Around Christmas time, we see so many wonderful acts of kindness throughout the community and this was no exception this year. Senior Carer, Joanne Kay, and her family kindly donated presents for every Resident and chocolates for all Colleagues. Peter and Sue, Joanne’s parents, wanted to treat all the Residents during this Christmas.

Christine, who lives at Roxburgh House, remarked, “How thoughtful, I wish more people were like them.”

Another Resident, Sheila, added, “How nice of them!”

So many other festive things have been happening this week, such as mistletoe making. Resident Elisie Coaton wanted some mistletoe. To make it a little more fun, Colleagues organised some laminated card to be cut into the shape of mistletoe.

Gail, another Resident at the home, commented, “We always had mistletoe when we were younger!”

Finally, there was the much-loved Christmas party that took place on Thursday 16th December this week. Louise, Heather and Ang, all of whom work at Roxburgh, did a lovely selection of party food for the Residents. There was also music, armchair dancing and a little tipple for some Residents.

See pictured Jean and Irene, as well as other fellow Residents, with the raffle prizes and jar of sprouts!

Linda Wilkes, Home Manager, said, “Everyone had a lovely time. We had raffles, lucky dip, and ‘Guess how many sprouts in the jar’. The party atmosphere was just terrific.”
