Community donations delight at Jarrow care homeResidents and team members at HC-One’s Needham Court care home in Jarrow have been delighted with the generosity of their local community this month.

Simonside School kindly donated £90 worth of toiletries and biscuits, to raise the money for the items the students at the school arranged a bake sale. The money raised was used to buy the gifts for the Residents at Needham Court.

Ellie Smith, a member of the team at Needham Court posted on a local community Facebook group asking if anyone had any unwanted baby items that the home could use for their therapy dolls for Residents living with dementia. A lady reached out to Ellie explaining that she sadly lost her father last year and wanted to use the money she had inherited to help others, she very thoughtfully purchased a brand-new pushchair and a therapy doll for the home.

Needham Court Home Manager, Joann Mills said: “We have all been blown away by the heart-warming gestures made by people in our local community, every person at Needham Court is very appreciative for all of the support.”

Located on Stanhope Road, Needham Court offers short and long term care packages for older members of the community needing residential or residential dementia care.
