Consett care home knitting club prepares for Remembrance DayMembers of the knitting club at HC-One’s Greenways Court care home in Consett are busy making crochet poppies in anticipation of Remembrance Day on Sunday 10th November.

A group of Residents meet every Monday for a knit and natter club, where they create beautiful handmade blankets, shawls, scarfs and much more. Resident’s often share patterns and chat as they work on their creations.

In preparation for Remembrance Sunday, the club have been busy creating crochet poppies to display throughout the home and for people to wear as a pin. Residents are enjoying making the poppies and said that they are looking forward to seeing all of the finished poppies all together.

Tina Ayton, Home Manager at Greenways Court said: “The knit and natter club is popular with the ladies and gentlemen at Greenways Court, it’s lovely that they are making poppies and I look forward to seeing what project they will be starting next.”
