Residents at HC-One’s Elstree Court care home enjoyed another afternoon of cooking together as they began taking part in fortnightly cooking sessions.
During this session, Residents chose to create lemon drizzle cupcakes, the home’s chef prepared the ingredients before Residents took turns to mix each of the ingredients and prepare them for baking.
After the cakes had finished baking and were set aside to cool, Residents prepared the topping which they would drizzle onto each of the cakes, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and have decided to do this every week instead of each fortnight.
Yolanda De Castro, home manager, commented: “Residents have thoroughly enjoyed themselves today, cooking brings back so many memories for them all, especially those who were previously chefs.”
