Coronavirus vaccine day arrives at Caerphilly care homeResidents and Colleagues at HC-One’s Church View care home in Caerphilly have now had their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

Vaccination day brought an even bigger buzz in the home than Christmas did as Residents looked forward to taking a step in the right direction to return to some normality.

Colleagues worked closely with a local vaccination team to answer any and all questions and put Residents at ease by treating everyone with dignity and great humour.

A member of the vaccination team commented: “This place just seems happy through and through. It’s a lovely place to be.”

Everyone was treated to a warm cup of tea and a biscuit or two after sitting like warriors for their injections.

The home is now one step closer to returning to some normality and Residents are looking forward to eventually being reunited with their families when the government finally give the go-ahead.

The vaccination is currently being rolled out to Residents and Colleagues in care homes under guidance from the Department of Health.

Church View Home Manager, Ellen Smith, said: “I’m very proud of the Church View team today. We all pulled together amazingly!”
