County Durham Residents paint colourful bird houses ready for springResidents are welcoming spring with open arms as they take part in colourful crafts sessions at HC-One’s St Margaret’s care home in Crossgate, County Durham.

Their favourite project was painting colourful decorative bird houses. The Residents decided they would like to display their bird houses in their bedrooms to cheer them up as they say goodbye to winter and welcome the warmer weather.

One Resident commented: “I love trying out different crafts. The birdhouse really brightens my room.”

Once their bright and happy bird houses had been painted, Residents fixed a piece of string to the top so that they could hang the ornaments wherever they wanted.

St Margaret’s Home Manager, Katherine Swainston, said: “It’s great to see the Residents being so creative and seeing the finished results of their hard work.”
