County Durham care home Residents bake up a stormResidents at HC-One’s Grampian Court care home in Peterlee spent a lovely morning baking and decorating their own biscuits.

Residents kneaded, rolled and shaped the biscuit dough before popping them in the oven to bake.

One Resident who simply couldn’t wait for the biscuits to finish baking boldly asked: “Can we have one now?”

Once golden, the team of Resident bakers made plenty of colourful icing and carefully decorated the shortbread treats.

The biscuits were enjoyed by all at Grampian Court with a cup of tea and chatter after lunch.

One Resident commented: “I can’t wait to taste them. They look delicious.”

Colleagues at the home also took part and enjoyed seeing the Residents working together as a team to make the tasty treats.

Grampian Court Wellbeing Coordinator, Judith Edwards, said: “The Residents have done a brilliant job and it’s great to see them chatting and laughing.”
