County Durham care home Residents get the long-awaited coronavirus vaccineResidents at HC-One’s St Margaret’s care home in Crossgate have now received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

St Margaret’s is now one step closer to returning to normality and Residents are looking forward to eventually being reunited with their families.

Residents agreed that getting the injection was a necessary evil to keep them all safe and with the support of staff – and the promise of tea and a tasty treat afterwards – went through with their vaccination.

One Resident commented: “That wasn’t so bad after all.”

The vaccine is currently being rolled out to Residents and staff in care homes under guidance from the Department of Health.

St Margaret’s Home Manager, Katherine Swainston, said: “It is a huge step in the right direction.”
