D-Day celebrations at Ash Grange
Residents at HC-One’s Ash Grange care home recently remembered D-Day as they watched the ceremony on the television and reminisced with one another.

Everyone read war books and looked through photographs as they discussed their memories of the era, whilst some read poems. One Resident even showed his medals to everyone as he spoke about his time in the war.

Residents and Relatives enjoyed a D-Day menu as they reminisced with one another, and enjoyed various snacks throughout the day. To end the day, they spend the afternoon watching Dunkirk as they chatted about memories this brought up.

Anita Horton, Home Manager, commented: “It’s been lovely to see everyone interacting with each other and enjoying themselves. It’s always nice to have a day filled with reminiscence.”
