Dementia-friendly coffee morning at Northwich care homeHC-One’s Avandale Lodge care home in Lostock Gralam opened its doors to the local community on Tuesday 3rd March for the home’s inaugural monthly coffee morning.

The team at Avandale Lodge have decided to host a monthly dementia-friendly coffee morning with the aim of providing a safe and welcoming environment for those living with dementia and their loved ones.

HC-One’s Director of Memory Care, Professor Graham Stokes attended the home’s coffee morning on the 3rd March to lead an informative discussion on a variety of topics surrounding dementia. 

The first Tuesday of each month from 10:30 am till 12 pm the home will open its doors to the local community, providing the opportunity to meet some new people while enjoying some delicious homemade cakes and refreshments.

Samantha Farahat, Home Manager at Avandale Lodge commented: “Everyone at Avandale Lodge is pleased with the response we had from our first coffee morning and are looking forward to welcoming more people each month.”
