Residents at HC-One’s Bankwood care home in Duffield, Belper have enjoyed a week of book-themed activities as part of National Storytelling Week.
Staff dressed up as their favourite story characters while Residents donned animal masks from stories they read or listened to throughout the week.
They were even treated to a special reading of a published book written by one of the home’s Residents, Diana Lucas who wrote and illustrated Rabbit in the Kitchen, one in a series of books inspired by her family life.
Residents enjoyed sharing their favourite stories with one another as they snacked on jam tarts and chocolate desserts made by home Chef, Lisa.
Bankwood Home Manager, Izeta Hamza, commented: “Everyone did a great job. It’s lovely to see our Residents enjoying themselves.”
