Residents at HC-One’s Dingle Meadow care home have enjoyed participating in Nutrition and Hydration Week this week.
Usually held in March, this year’s Nutrition and Hydration week was held in June due to the global pandemic and in recognition of all that the health and social care system is doing for everyone at this time, and everyone was pleased it was still able to go ahead.
Various beverages and snacks have been available for Residents to indulge in over the week, with Colleagues positively encouraging and emphasising the importance of remaining hydrated throughout the day – even more so as the weather had become increasingly warmer this month.
The kitchen team prepared a variety of foods and drinks from infused water to jelly and ice cream, which was a firm favourite of the Residents’.
One Resident remarked: “I’ve really enjoyed this week, it’s been lovely to sample some new flavours.”
