Dudley care home Residents host a month filled with activitiesAt Ashgrove care home, in Netherton, Residents have been so busy with a programme of activities in place and, of course, the annual festivities.

In mid-December, the Salvation Army Band visited the care home to play some Christmas songs. Playing outside for Residents in doors, and a little bit of rain, didn’t stop the smiling faces of everyone involved. The Residents thoroughly enjoyed the performance and even sang along to a few songs. One of the Residents said, “It is a sign that Christmas is nearly here when the Salvation Army play.”

On 21st December, the Christmas party took place at the home where, as a community, Colleagues and Residents enjoyed Christmas bingo, pass the parcel and even had a surprise visit from Father Christmas himself!

Residents had a great deal of fun and very much enjoyed the day.

Home Manager, Julie Jones, remarked, “It was very nice for Residents to have a little fun!”

With all the festivities in full swing, some Residents decided to have a nice wind down on 29th December with a nice pampering afternoon. The ladies and gents of Ashgrove enjoyed a morning of hand massages and manicures. One Resident loved her pamper so much that she fell asleep! It was just what Clifford, Betty, Shirley, Anne and Sheila all needed.

New Year’s Eve was certainly one to remember as all Residents enjoyed the annual party. With party games and plenty of prizes to win, All Residents and Colleagues had great fun at the party with lots of disco dancing and an arrangement of delicious food and drink.

Sheila, who Residents at Ashgrove, commented, “I loved it all!”

Fellow Resident, Betty, added, “It’s been great!”

One New Years Day, Residents Clifford Jasper enjoyed painting a bird feeder box which he painted and decorated in beautiful yellow and blue shades. Clifford had a nice glass of beer while enjoying the activity with lots of laughs and jokes.

Julie added, “We have had a wonderful festive season, and here is to the rest of 2021!”
