Residents at HC-One’s St Margaret’s care home in Durham have received some wonderful gifts from students at the local Durham University campus.
On Thursday 10th December, students from Durham University delivered Christmas Cards for Residents, keeping intergenerational connections going through the pandemic.
During the coronavirus pandemic, as seen up and down the country, local communities really got together to help out care homes when they were in need, and some people in the community around St Margaret’s have kept the relationships with the home.
Residents were over the moon to have received some lovely cards and gifts from the students and they were happy to know people were still thinking of them through this tough time, “it’s really lovely to hear from the students, what a pleasant surprise,” said one Resident.
