Durham care home Residents craft handmade poppies for Rememberance DayResidents at HC-One’s St Margaret’s care home in Durham recently crafted some handmade poppies to use during this year’s Remembrance Day.

As the home’s focus began to switch to Remembrance Day, Colleagues and Residents cut out poppies made from felt and used these along with some printed card to decorate the home with.

The posters are now on display throughout the home’s reception and corridors, letting everyone know that the home remembers.

One Resident said: “I love it when we have little craft groups, it really keeps me going. What a lovely thing to make and put up in the home to show that we remember all that was sacrificed for us.”

St Margaret’s Home Manager, Katherine Swainston said: “It’s so important to remember all those lives that were lost during war.”
