Durham care home open brand new Cuthbert Suite garden areaColleagues at St Margarets care home in Durham welcomed the opening of the lovely garden area that features in the homes newly refurbished Cuthbert Suite.
 
Resident at St Margarets care home can now enjoy the bright and colourful garden area in the homes new Cuthbert Suite after its grand opening on 17th July.
 
The garden area was developed with Residents at its heart, offering a warm, safe space for Residents to visit when they need to brighten up their day. It features bright murals, pictures of countryside landscapes and colourful animals and butterflies.
 
Colour preferences for individuals with dementia are red, blue and green. For instance, blue is a restful colour with a calming effect. Research shows that blue rooms are seemingly cooler than rooms painted in shades of red or orange.
