Edinburgh care home Residents create cotton bud skeleton Halloween
Residents at HC-One’s Highgate care home in Edinburgh made skeleton art using cotton buds, glue, scissors and black card, just in time for Halloween.

Colleagues and Residents got themselves comfortable in the bar & café where they had pictures to direct and help them put together the skeletons. Some Residents needed assistance with scissors and glue so there was plenty of Colleagues nearby to help.

While Residents were crafting, in the background, Colleagues played old Halloween music, playing songs like ‘Hungry Like the Wolf’, ‘Thriller’, ‘Ghostbusters’ and ‘Monster Mash’. Residents were singing along and laughing as they crafted their masterpieces.

One Highgate Resident said: “Think these pictures are amazing, they look really good, I love that we used cotton buds, very creative.”

Residents liked getting involved and being part of a team, listening to the music whilst getting their hands sticky, getting in the mood for the spooky season.

Jennifer McKellar, Highgate Home Manager said: “It was good to get residents together, socially distanced and getting into the Halloween spirit. As we are not allowed to dress up this year in Highgate, we are making our own entertainment.”
