Egg-citing times at Penrith care homeHC-One’s Winters Park care home in Penrith welcomed ten new fluffy friends to the world with an egg-citing ‘hatch your own eggs’ project.

Residents at Winters Park were excited when ten eggs arrived at the care home in an incubator, they all enjoyed watching the eggs and waiting for the first signs of hatching to appear. Everyone was delighted when all ten eggs hatched and five girls and five boy chicks entered the world.

After some more time in the incubator, the chicks were transferred to a big box where Residents and team members were able to see and care for the chicks. For two weeks the chicks were part of the Winters Park community and everyone enjoyed having them around before they got ready to move to their new home. Maintenance Operative, David offered to give five of the chicks a home which everyone at the care home thought was very kind.

Winters Park Resident, Clarissa said: “Wow! I’ve never seen a chick come out of it’s egg before.”

Winters Park Home Manager, Kate Lewis said:” I am so pleased that everyone enjoyed having the chicks here, they brought so much joy and laughter to our home.”

Located on Pategill Road, Winters Park care home offers short and long term care packages for older ladies and gentlemen that require residential care.
