Emotional outdoor visit after 5 months apart for Resident at Wigston care homeBarbara Hughes, a Resident at HC One’s Cedar Court care home, enjoyed a lovely outdoor visit with her daughter for the first time today.

After 5 long months of having no visitors coming to see Residents at the Wigston care home, it has been incredible to finally be able to arrange for Relatives to come into the garden to reunite with their loved one.

Nicola Gibbons was one of the first that came to see her mum Barbara.
Barbara was extremely happy to finally see her daughter and even though it was hard for Barbara to not physically hug her daughter, she felt her day was brightened just by being physically able to see her for the first time.

Barbara said “my day got so much brighter when I saw Nicola in person.”

The home manager commented “It is quite emotional being a part of Residents’ being reunited with their loved ones. It is a privilege to experience, but also very emotional for all parties involved. A lot of tears of joy rather than sadness were shed.”
